Sea Otter

Team Pass PT recently made the annual trek to the Sea Otter classic in Monterey, CA. It wouldn't be Sea Otter without rain, and there was plenty of that on Saturday. Matt & Trevor got a thorough soaking while pre-riding the XC course, while the girls were getting soaked during their warm-up for the Pro Women's short-track. Fortunately the nastiest part of the storm was over shortly before the start of the short-track event.

In stark contrast to Saturday's squall, the weather and trail conditions were nearly perfect for Sunday's XC race.

Matt opted to race his new Gary Fisher Rig 29er singlespeed, for his first time racing a singlespeed, in the Pro/Semi-Pro/Expert singlespeed class. Matt had a good race, finishing just outside the top 10. Trevor, on the other hand, got a good start but failed to find a comfortable rhythm and struggled to a 28th place finish.

For details of the girls' race look for an upcoming race recap on Christie's blog.

NOVA Nationals

The NMBS season opener at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills, AZ found Team Pass Physical Therapy in the desert testing our early season fitness on the fast, rocky, cacti-laden NOVA Nationals course.

The rocks took their toll, and more than one team member was afflicted by flat tires, both in races and during pre-rides. The only one who wasn't affected by flats all weekend was Trevor on his Gary Fisher Rig. The 29-inch wheels are definitely the hot-ticket on a fast XC course like at McDowell. Fortunately the whole team will be riding Gary Fisher 29ers for the remainder of the season.
